Rhonda Oliver Cummings, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, currently residing in Houston, Texas is the Daughter of fellow Maconite, William and Louise Oliver, National Coordinator, and President of the localCleveland’s chapter, respectively.
Ms. Cummings is President/CEO of Synergy Management Solutions (SMS) an Emerging Business Academy Next Level Small Business Development, Leadership/Diversity Training, and Staffing firm. SMS is currently training and bridging the gap between Government Agencies, Prime Contractors of NASA and MWBE’s identifying and qualifying their core competencies along with educating the M/WBE’s on the culture,language and expectations of NASA and NASA’s Prime Contractors. We also work with Historically Black C olleges and University students on how to prepare for corporate America and Government Agencies“Bridging the Gap between corporate America/Government Agencies and colleges and universities”Responsible for the success of Texas Southern University students winning the Ford Corporation Business Plan Competition in Washington D.C. in 2005.
Ms. Cummings has been in business for 13 years. Founder/Vice President of Marketing of a multi-statetechnical employment company, and executive officer of other community business enterprises, as well ascorporate entrepreneur and organizational leader who generated jobs, contracts, housing and education forthe community.
Ms. Cummings is currently President/CEO of Synergy Management Solutions, a Small Business Development and Training Firm. Our mission is to take small businesses to the next level, while systematically providing them the tools to succeed.
As executive territory manager for Kellogg, Ms. Cummings generated over $7 million in sales which resulting in a 40% growth in the Chicago, Illinois territory. Ms. Cummings was also chosen to represent Kellogg annually on WGN television and national television for UNCF with Lou Rawls.
In addition, Ms. Cummings also chaired two consecutive years, an annual Small Business Expo (Government Procurement Connections GPC), 20-year premier government contracting event for small, women, minority,disabled and disadvantaged business owners. responsible for securing renowned Motivational speakers,George Fraser and Les Brown which has well over 4000 small businesses in attendance. Currently Co-chair for the GPC marketing committee.
Ms. Cummings serves on numerous boards and has received many awards and accolades for her community service, including best actress for the state of Ohio, Speaker at the MSRIP conference, Community of Faith Women’s conference speaker, recipient of the Mentor of the year with Lyndon B. Johnson NASA Space Center and Congressional recognition for outstanding job with Government Procurement Connections from Congress Woman Shelia Jackson-Lee of Houston, Texas, HMBC member, NCMA member Workforce Board Member 8(a) certified, SDB certified, Woman-owned, HUB certified, NMSDC certified, METRO certified & POH certified.
Ms. Cummings graduated from Jackson State University, in Jackson, MS, received Microsoft Business Training certificate, a member of the NASA Joint Leadership, and ProGroup, Inc. Diversity Training Certificate, a member of the Houston Minority Business Council, Greater Houston Partnership Small.
